Business consulting for firms that have outgrown guesswork

You built something real. Revenue is coming in. But the next stage of growth feels harder than the first, and the decisions ahead carry more weight. We sit beside you, look at the numbers, and figure out what to change.

How an engagement actually works

We don't sell retainers by the hour. Every project has a fixed scope, a fixed fee, and a clear deliverable at the end.

Diagnostic conversation

A 90-minute call, free of charge. We ask about revenue mix, cost structure, team capacity, and what keeps you up at night. If we think we can help, we send a one-page proposal within 48 hours. If we can't, we'll tell you that too.

Data immersion

We spend one to two weeks inside your numbers: management accounts, CRM exports, payroll data, supplier contracts. We build a financial model that shows where money is leaking and where it could compound.

Recommendation deck

Not a 60-slide PowerPoint. A short document with four or five concrete moves, each with an estimated financial impact and a timeline. We present it in person, argue about it, and refine it together.

Implementation support

For the next four to six weeks we join your weekly management meeting, help draft new processes, sit in on difficult supplier negotiations, and track progress against the targets we agreed on. When the engagement ends, you keep every model, template, and playbook we built.

What we do

Five practice areas. Each one can run as a standalone project or combine with others.

We pull apart your P&L line by line. Most owner-managed firms between £1m and £20m in turnover have two or three cost categories that are 15–30% higher than they need to be. We identify those, negotiate with suppliers where appropriate, and restructure pricing where the market will bear it. A typical margin analysis takes three weeks and pays for itself within a quarter.
Thinking about a new product line, a geographic expansion, or an acquisition? We model the economics before you commit capital. That means customer research (real interviews, not desk research alone), competitive mapping, and a financial forecast with sensitivity analysis. We have particular experience with firms expanding from Northern Ireland into the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain.
When the business has grown faster than its systems, things start to break: late deliveries, rising complaints, staff burnout. We map your end-to-end workflow, find the bottlenecks, and design a leaner process. This often involves changes to team structure, software tools, and reporting cadence. We stay through the transition so the new process actually sticks.
Profitable on paper, tight on cash. It is the most common complaint we hear. We build a 13-week rolling cash forecast, renegotiate payment terms with your top ten customers and suppliers, and set up a simple dashboard so you can see the cash position every Monday morning without waiting for your accountant.
Whether you want to sell in 18 months or hand the business to a family member in five years, the preparation is similar: clean financials, reduced owner-dependency, documented processes, and a credible growth story. We help you build that package, and if you choose to sell, we connect you with corporate finance advisers we trust.

Common questions

Things people ask before they sign.

What size of business do you work with?

Mostly firms with £1m to £25m in annual turnover and between 10 and 150 employees. Below that range, the economics of a consulting engagement rarely make sense. Above it, you probably need a larger firm with sector-specific teams.

How much does an engagement cost?

A diagnostic call is free. A typical project runs between £6,000 and £25,000 depending on scope and duration. We quote a fixed fee upfront, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Do you work remotely or on-site?

Both. The data immersion phase usually requires at least two on-site days. After that, most of the work happens via video calls and shared documents, with on-site visits as needed for workshops or presentations.

What industries do you cover?

We have completed projects in manufacturing, professional services, food and drink, construction, and technology. The common thread is owner-managed firms facing a growth or profitability challenge, not a particular sector.

Will you implement the recommendations?

We stay for the implementation phase, typically four to six weeks. We don't just hand over a report and leave. That said, we are not interim managers; we work alongside your team, not instead of them.

Can I speak to a previous client?

Yes. We maintain a short list of clients who have agreed to take reference calls. We will share their details after the diagnostic conversation, once we understand the type of work you need.
